The European SUPER League will begin its second year with a top-level international World SUP Festival Costa Blanca. The event will take place from April 24th to 26th in Santa Pola.
The event, to be held from April 24 to 26 in Alicante, will bring together some of the leading names in international SUP and feature representation from around 20 countries, with 17.000.- Euros Price Money.
Santa Pola (Alicante) is preparing once again to become one of the major hubs of European stand up paddle with the staging of the World SUP Festival Costa Blanca, the opening event of the 2026 European SUP League, set to take place from April 24 to 26.
While the registration process is still being finalized and the full official entry list is expected to be released in the coming days, the organization can already confirm a field of outstanding quality, featuring some of the most notable riders on the international scene, further underlining the relevance of this event within the European calendar.
In the men’s category, confirmed names already include Suri, Donato Freens, Aaron Sánchez, Antonio Morillo, Fernando Pérez, Nicolo Ricco, Sergio Cantoral and Filippo Mercuriali, athletes with strong international experience and projection who are set to guarantee a very high competitive standard from the very start of the championship.
The women’s category will also once again place the event among the leading races on the circuit, with the confirmed participation of Cecilia Pampinella, Duna Gordillo, Esperanza Barreras, Alba Frey, Alexia Soto and Sveva Sabato. Added to that is the return of Ana Tschirky, the first ever winner of the World SUP Festival, in what is a particularly meaningful appearance for the history of the event.
One of the major added values of this edition will be its strong international dimension. As of today, the event already has representation from around 20 countries, a figure that points toward one of the most internationally diverse editions to date and further consolidates the World SUP Festival Costa Blanca as a benchmark event for riders from all over the world.
Beyond the sporting level, this international presence also strengthens the position of Santa Pola and the Costa Blanca as a strategic venue for major sea and outdoor sports events, offering an ideal environment both for competition and for the tourism projection of the destination.
Despite the current difficulties related to transport and travel, the organization remains positive about participation and confident that the championship will once again deliver a great show throughout the three days of competition.
As for conditions, the outlook is equally encouraging. The forecast points to waves of around one meter and favorable wind over the three days, a scenario which, if confirmed, should provide an exciting and demanding competition for both athletes and spectators.
