Code Foils introduces its new range of boards for Surf Foil, Downwind and other foiling disciplines
Code Foils expands its catalogue with a new range of boards developed to meet the specific needs of different foiling disciplines. Behind these designs are Marcus and Ben Tardrew, who bring together more than 40 years of experience in board building and shaping, with a clear goal: to deliver stiffness, durability and a direct connection between rider and foil.
The collection includes models for prone foil, wing foil, downwind SUP, Dock Start and Foil Assist. Each range features its own design characteristics, developed to improve performance and the overall riding experience in each discipline.
Prone and Mid-Length Prone: designed for Foil Surfing
Developed and tested on Australia’s Gold Coast, the Prone and Mid-Length Prone boards from Code Foils aim to deliver a balance of paddling efficiency, take-off performance and control once on foil. Their designs have been tested by riders of different skill levels and in a variety of wave conditions.
Both ranges feature volume positioned under the chest to help with paddling, along with a flat bottom that helps build speed and promotes an early, clean release from the water. Particular attention has also been given to stiffness around the foil track area, an important factor in maintaining a direct response while riding.
The Prone takes a compact, responsive approach, aimed at riders who prioritise manoeuvrability. The Mid-Length Prone, meanwhile, features a longer, narrower outline that makes paddling and catching waves easier.
Construction includes full carbon, high-density PVC reinforcement and a reinforced foil mounting area. Both options are also compatible with Foil Drive.
Available sizes
- Prone: 26 L (4’3″ × 18.5″), 29 L (4’6″ × 19″), 35 L (4’9″ × 19.5″) and 40 L (5’2″ × 20″).
- Mid-Length Prone: 29 L (5’0″ × 19.5″), 36 L (5’3″ × 19.5″) and 40 L (5’6″ × 20″).
WASP: versatility dcross different disciplines
The WASP range is designed for riders looking for a board that can adapt to different disciplines, from wing foiling to Foil Assist, as well as SUP and parawing.
Its carbon construction, high-density PVC reinforcement and reinforced tracks prioritise stiffness and durability. Models up to 90 litres feature multiple footstrap insert positions, allowing riders to configure the board according to their preferences and riding style.
The boards can be ridden with or without straps, making them suitable for everything from jumping and carving to surfing and cruising. The entire range is compatible with Foil Drive, further expanding its versatility.
Available sizes
- 50 L: 5’1″ × 19.5″.
- 60 L: 5’5″ × 19.75″.
- 70 L: 5’8″ × 19.75″.
- 80 L: 6’1″ × 20″.
- 90 L: 6’5″ × 21.25″.
- 98 L: 6’9″ × 22.5″.
- 106 L: 7’0″ × 22.75″.
- 115 L: 7’3″ × 23″.

KANGA: maximum stiffness for Dock Start
For Dock Start, Code Foils introduces the KANGA, a board developed to deliver maximum stiffness and immediate feedback while pumping. The aim is to create a direct connection with the foil, allowing every movement to translate into a precise response.
Its design features pronounced chines that help reduce the board’s tendency to catch on the water during take-off and minimise disruption when the board touches the surface again.
Construction is a key feature. The KANGA uses carbon with a high-density, closed-cell PVC foam core, combined with aerospace-grade pre-preg epoxy and carbon. The board is heat-pressed at 140°C in a closed CNC-machined steel mould. Its track boxes are also integrated and laminated from the base through to the deck to reinforce the structure.
Available specifications
- Volume: 10 L.
- Dimensions: 900 mm × 16.5″.
Downwind SUP: efficiency in every paddle stroke
The Code Foils Downwind SUP boards are designed to make acceleration and take-off more efficient, reducing the effort required to get onto foil and connect with bumps. Their volume distribution promotes stability while paddling, with a forward section that provides a supportive platform before take-off.
The design combines a flat bottom, intended to build speed and release cleanly from the water, with a pronounced pin tail featuring a rounded dome profile. This configuration helps reduce tail resistance while pumping. Minimal rail angle preserves more surface area, contributing to stability and support.

The carbon construction includes reinforced foil tracks and PVC through the standing area, delivering a stiff and durable structure. The range is also compatible with Foil Drive.
Available sizes
- 90 L: 7’2″ × 19″.
- 100 L: 8’0″ × 17″.
- 110 L: 8’0″ × 19″.
- 100 L: 8’5″ × 16.5″.
- 110 L: 8’5″ × 18″.
- 120 L: 8’5″ × 20″.
FAST: a purpose-built solution for foil assist
The FAST range, named after Foil Assist Super Trench, is designed specifically for Foil Assist systems. Its standout feature is the Super Trench, an integrated channel that allows the battery and assist unit to sit neatly within the board.
Carbon construction, high-density PVC reinforcement and reinforced foil tracks help maintain structural stiffness without adding unnecessary volume. The range focuses on compact shapes designed to complement the Foil Assist riding experience.
This approach also reflects the collaboration between Code Foils and Foil Drive in developing integrated solutions for this style of foiling.
Available sizes
- 30 L: 5’0″ × 19″.
- 38 L: 5’5″ × 19.5″.
- 49 L: 5’10” × 20″.
